Question:

A milk seller has three types 403, 465 and 496 gallon of milk.  Find the minimum number of bottles which can measure the whole quantity of milk without mixing them?

Options:

46

44

45

34

Correct Answer:

44

Explanation:

Quantity of milk in one bottle = HCF of 403, 465, 496

Quantity of milk in one bottle = 31

Number of bottles = \(\frac{Total\;quantity\;of\;milk}{Quantity\;of\;milk\;in\;one\;bottle}\)

                           = \(\frac{403}{31}\) + \(\frac{465}{31}\) + \(\frac{496}{31}\)

                           =  13 + 15 + 16 = 44
