A train crosses a 600 metres long platform in 50 seconds. It crosses another 900 metres long platform in 60 seconds. What are the length and the speed of the train? (Assuming the train is going at constant speed) |
900 metres, 96 km/h 900 metres, 108 km/h 600 metres, 108 km/h 700 metres, 96 km/h |
900 metres, 108 km/h |
We know , Speed = \(\frac{Distance }{Speed }\) Let length of train = a meter According to Question , \(\frac{600 + a }{50 }\) = \(\frac{900+a }{60 }\) 3600 + 6a = 4500 + 5a a = 900 Speed = \(\frac{600 + 900}{50 }\) = 30 m/sec 30 m/sec = 30 × \(\frac{18 }{5 }\) = 108 km/h So , Length of train is 900m and Speed of train is 108 km/h |
