Answer & explanation
Correct answer: option 3
The correct answer is Option (3) → D-A-B-C-E
(D) Forming — first. Members meet with uncertainty about the group, its goal and how to reach it; they try to know each other and see whether they will fit in.
(A) Storming — second. This is intragroup conflict over how the goal is to be achieved, who controls the group and who does what. At its end a hierarchy of leadership develops.
(B) Norming — third. Members develop norms for group behaviour, and a positive group identity grows.
(C) Performing — fourth. The structure is accepted and the group works towards its goal. For some groups this is the last stage.
(E) Adjourning — fifth. A group made for a fixed task, such as an organising committee for a school function, is disbanded once the task is over.
