Question:

Z is increased successively by $11\frac{1}{9}$% and 10% to get R. If R = 165, then what is the value of Z?

Options:

145

115

125

135

Correct Answer:

135

Explanation:

11\(\frac{1}{9}\)% = \(\frac{1}{9}\) & 10% = \(\frac{1}{10}\)

Let Z = 9R

ATQ ,

Increased value of Z  = 9R + 9R  × \(\frac{1}{9}\) = 9R + 1R = 10R

Now again Increased by 10% ,

Increased Number = 10R + 10% of 10R = 11R

ATQ,

11R = 165

1R = 15

Value of Z = 9R

= 9 × 15

= 135

So , Value of Z is 135.
