A and B travel from X to Y at the speed of 40 km/hr and 60 km/hr respectively . If B takes \(\frac{1}{2}\) hour lesser time than A , then what is the distance between the X and Y ?

Options:

50 km

60 km

70 km

85 km

Correct Answer:

60 km

Explanation:

Ratio                    A    :    B 

                          40   :    60

 Speed                  2    :    3

 Time                    3    :    2

 ( Distance = Speed × Time , so ratio of speed and time is inverse to each other  )

According to question , 

1R = 30 minutes 

3R = 90 minutes 

Distance = 40  ×  \(\frac{90}{60}\)  = 60 km
