Correct Answer:

1298

Explanation:

Given = a + \(\frac{1}{a + 1}\) = 10

By adding 1 on both sides we get,

(a + 1) + \(\frac{1}{a + 1}\) = 10 + 1 = 11

(a + 1)3 + \(\frac{1}{(a + 1)^3}\) = 113 - 3 × 11 = 1298

 

Note - if x +  \(\frac{1}{x}\) = a

then x3 + \(\frac{1}{x^3}\) =  a3 - 3a
