A, B and C can finish a piece of work in 36 days, 54 days and 72 days respectively. They start the work together but A left the job 8 days before and B left the job 12 days before completion of the work. In how many days the total work finished?

Efficiency of (A +B + C) = 6 + 4 + 3 = 13

In these type of conditions:

i) If A works for 8 days more, extra work will be = 6 × 8 = 48 and

ii) If B works for 12 days more, extra work will be = 4 × 12 = 48

Now,

**Total work = 216 + 48 + 48 = 312 which is to be done by A, B and C together and the time taken in this case is always equal to the time taken by A, B and C in the the given condition.**

Hence, Work will be completed in = \(\frac{312}{13}\) = 24 days
