Question:

The volume of a cylinder having base radius 3 cm is 396 cm3. Find its curved surface area (in cm2). (Use $\pi =\frac{22}{7}$)

Options:

280

301.5

264

320.6

Correct Answer:

264

Explanation:

The correct answer is Option (3) → 264

Given,

Radius of the cylinder = 3 cm

Volume of the cylinder = 396 cm3

We know that,

Volume of the cylinder = ∏r2h

∏r2h = 396

\(\frac{22}{7}\) × 32 × h = 396

h = 14

Now the curved surface area of the cylinder = 2∏rh

2 × \(\frac{22}{7}\) × 3 × 14 = 264 cm2
