Given :-

Total number of votes = 12000

Valid votes = 90% of 12000

= 12000 × \(\frac{9}{10}\) = 10800

1st candidate got 60% of the total votes then 2nd candidate got 40%

= 10800 × \(\frac{2}{5}\) 

= 4320
