Question:

If tan θ = 15, then what is the value of cosθ ?

Options:

$\sqrt{226}$

$\frac{1}{\sqrt{224}}$

$\frac{1}{\sqrt{226}}$

$\sqrt{224}$

Correct Answer:

$\frac{1}{\sqrt{226}}$

Explanation:

tan θ = 15

{ we know, tan θ = \(\frac{P}{B}\) }

By using pythagoras theorem,

P² + B² = H²

15² + 1² = H²

H = \(\sqrt { 226}\)

Now,

cosθ

= \(\frac{B}{H}\)

= \(\frac{1}{√226}\)
