Option (1) Saheli — Incorrect. Saheli is not an IUD but an oral pill. It is a non-steroidal pill taken once a week, developed at CDRI, Lucknow.

Option (2) Multiload 375 — Incorrect. Multiload 375 is a copper releasing IUD, like CuT and Cu7. The copper ions it releases slow down the movement of sperms and lower their fertilising capacity.

Option (3) LNG-20 — Correct. LNG-20, like Progestasert, is a hormone releasing IUD. Besides acting as an IUD, its hormone makes the uterus unsuitable for implantation and the cervix hostile to the sperms.

Option (4) Lippes loop — Incorrect. Lippes loop is a non-medicated IUD. It releases neither copper nor any hormone. It works only by increasing the phagocytosis of sperms in the uterus.
