A watch of MRP of ₹ 1600 is sold in ₹ 1224 after giving two successive discounts of 15% and x% respectively. Find value of x.

There are two successive discounts of 15% and x% 

ATQ, 

1st discount ⇒ 1600 × 15% = Rs.240

S.P. after 1st discount = 1600 -240 = 1360.

Now the second discount will be on Rs.1360.

S.P. after second discount = Rs.1224 (given)

Second discount = 1360 - 1224 = Rs.136

Second discount % (x%) =  \(\frac{136}{1360}\) x 100% = 10%

Therefore, x = 10%
