Question:

If the volume of a sphere is $697\frac{4}{21} cm^3$, then its radius is :

(Take $\pi=\frac{22}{7}$)

Options:

6 cm

5 cm

4.5 cm

5.5 cm

Correct Answer:

5.5 cm

Explanation:

Given,

The volume of a sphere = $697\frac{4}{21} cm^3$ = \(\frac{14641}{21}\)

We also know that,

The volume of a sphere = \(\frac{4}{3}\) πr3

equating both of them,

\(\frac{4}{3}\) × \(\frac{22}{7}\) × r3 = \(\frac{14641}{21}\)

 r3 = \(\frac{14641}{21}\)  × \(\frac{7}{22}\) × \(\frac{3}{4}\)

on solving,

 r3 = 166.375

r = \(\sqrt[3]{166.375}\)

r = 5.5cm
