Question:

‘A’ can hit the target 3 times out of 5 times, ‘B’ can hit 2 times out of 5 and ‘C’ can hit 3 times our of 4. They aim at each other simultaneously. What is the probability that 2 out of ‘A’,’B’ and ‘C’ will hit the target?

Options:

$\frac{1}{2}$

$\frac{9}{20}$

$\frac{3}{4}$

$\frac{2}{5}$

Correct Answer:

$\frac{9}{20}$

Explanation:

$P(A)=\frac{3}{5},P(B)=\frac{2}{5}$ and $P(C)=\frac{3}{4}$

P(Two of them hits the target) = $P(A)P(B)P(\bar C)+P(\bar A)P(B)P(C)+P(A)P(\bar B)P(C)=\frac{9}{20}$
