Question:

A person buys three spectacles at the rate of Rs. 4,000 per spectacles. He sells first spectacles at a profit of 30 percent, sells second spectacles at a loss of 10 percent and sell third spectacles at a loss of 10 percent. What is the total percentage of profit earned in the whole transaction?

Options:

7.14 percent

2.18 percent

3.33 percent

5.41 percent

Correct Answer:

3.33 percent

Explanation:

Selling price of first at 30% profit = 10------11

Selling price of second at 10% loss = 10-----9

Selling price of third at 10% loss = 10-----9

                                              ————————

                                               30 ----- 29= 1 loss

Loss percentage = \(\frac{1 × 100}{30}\) = 3.33%
