Question:

The degree of the differential equation $\left(\frac{d^3 y}{d x^3}\right)^{2 / 3}+4-3 \frac{d^2 y}{d x^2}+5 \frac{d y}{d x}=0$, is

Options:

1

2

3

none of these

Correct Answer:

2

Explanation:

We have,

$\left(\frac{d^3 y}{d x^3}\right)^{2 / 3}+4-3 \frac{d^2 y}{d x^2}+5 \frac{d y}{d x}=0$

$\Rightarrow \left(\frac{d^3 y}{d x^3}\right)^2=\left(3 \frac{d^2 y}{d x^2}-5 \frac{d y}{d x}-4\right)^3$

Clearly, it is a differential equation of degree 2 .
