Question:

The length, the breadth, and the height of a cuboidal room are given as 80 m, 70m, and 80 m, respectively. What will be the total cost of painting the four walls of this room, at the rate of 50 paise per square metre?

Options:

₹1,20,000

₹28,000

₹48,000

₹12,000

Correct Answer:

₹12,000

Explanation:

We know that,

Area of four walls of cuboid = 2 × (Length + Breadth) × Height

We have,

Length of room = 80 m

Breadth of room = 70 m

Height of room = 80 m

Area of four walls = 2 × (80 + 70) × 80 = 2 × 150 × 80 = 24000 m2

Total cost of painting four walls of room =  (24000 × \(\frac{50}{100}\)) = ₹12,000
