Assertion: Mercury is the hottest planet of our solar system.
Reasoning: Mercury is the closet planet to the sun.
Answer & explanation
Correct answer: option 4
The correct answer is Option (4) - Assertion (A) is false but Reasoning (R) is correct.
Mercury is not the hottest planet in the solar system. The hottest planet is Venus. On its dark side, Mercury gets very cold because it has almost no atmosphere to hold in heat and keep the surface warm. The greenhouse effect increases the temperature of Venus making it the hottest planet in the solar system.
