Question:

Study the given histogram that shows the marks obtained by students in an examination and answer the question that follows.

The number of students who obtained less than 350 marks is what per cent more than the number of students who obtained 400 or more marks?(correct to one decimal place)

Options:

350%

100%

385.7%

375.8%

Correct Answer:

385.7%

Explanation:

Total number of students with less than 350 marks = 30 + 45 + 60 + 35 = 170

Number of students with more than 400 marks = 35

Required percentage =  \(\frac{170 - 35}{35}\) × 100

=  \(\frac{135}{35}\) × 100

= 385.7%
