Question:

What will be the solution (4 to 5) system of inequality : $-2≤6x-1< 2$ ?

Options:

$[-\frac{1}{5}, \frac{1}{2})$

$[-\frac{1}{6}, \frac{1}{2})$

$[-\frac{1}{6}, \frac{1}{3})$

$[-\frac{1}{5}, \frac{1}{3})$

Correct Answer:

$[-\frac{1}{6}, \frac{1}{2})$

Explanation:

The correct answer is option (2) : $[-\frac{1}{6}, \frac{1}{2})$

$-2≤6x-1< 2$

$-2+1≤6x < 2 +1 $

$-1 ≤ 6x < 3$

$-\frac{1}{6} ≤ x < \frac{1}{2}$

∴ Solution set is { x : x ∈ R, $-\frac{1}{6}≤x < \frac{1}{2}$ } i.e, $[-\frac{1}{6}, \frac{1}{2})$
