Question:

The speed of train A is 16 km/h less than the speed of train B. To cover a distance of 384 km, B takes 4 hours less time than A. What is the speed (in km/h) of train B?

Options:

50

45

32

48

Correct Answer:

48

Explanation:

Let speed of Train B = S km/h

Speed of train A = ( S - 16 ) km/h

Let required distance =  384 km

According to question ,

\(\frac{384}{(S-16)}\) - \(\frac{384}{S}\) = 4

\(\frac{384(S- S + 16)}{S(S-16)}\)  = 4

On solving ,

X = 48 km/h

So , Speed of B is 48 km/h
