Question:

The ratio of three numbers is 6 : 5 : 9. If 20 percent of the first number is 30, then what would be 50 percent of the difference of third and second number?

Options:

50

30

45

40

Correct Answer:

50

Explanation:

Ratio = 6 : 5 : 9

Given that 20% of the first number (i.e. 6r) = 30

⇒ $\frac{1}{5}$ x 6r = 30

⇒ 1r = 25

Difference between third and second number = 4r = 4 × 25 = 100

50% of this number = 50
