Question:

A company gives 15% commission to his salesman on the sale and 2% bonus on the sale above ₹20,000/-. If the salesman deposited ₹35,260/- in the account of sale of the company after deducting his commission, then find the total sale (in ₹).

Options:

40,000

42,000

45,000

50,000

Correct Answer:

42,000

Explanation:

Let the total sales = x

commission of salesman = x × 15 % + (x - 20,000 ) × 2 %

x - ( \(\frac{15x}{100}\) + \(\frac{2x}{100}\) - 400 ) = 35,260

\(\frac{83x}{100}\) = 34860

⇒ x = 42000
