Question:

The cost of building a fence around a circular field is ₹7,425 at the rate of ₹13.50 per foot. What is the area of the circular field? [Use π = $\frac{22}{7}$]

Options:

25018.5 ft2

23864.4 ft2

24644.5 ft2

24062.5 ft2

Correct Answer:

24062.5 ft2

Explanation:

Let, radius of the circular field = r

Circumference of the circular field = 2πr

Rs. 13.5 is needed to build a fence of = 1 foot.

Rs. 7425 is needed to build a fence of = \(\frac{7425}{13.5}\) = 550 ft.

Circumference of the circular field = 550 ft.

According to problem,

= 2πr = 550

= r = 87.5

Area of the circular field = πr2 = \(\frac{22}{7}\)× (87.5)2 = 24062.5 sq. ft.
