Question:

In the Lok Sabha election, Party A got 30% of the total votes. Party B got 25% of the total votes. Party C got the remaining votes and they got 9000 more votes than Party A. Find the number of votes Party B got.

Options:

12000

18000

21000

15000

Correct Answer:

15000

Explanation:

Total no. of votes = 100x

 A + B + C= 100x

 30x + 25x + C = 100%

 C = 45x

And C got 9000 more votes than A.

C – A = 45x - 30x = 15x

15x = 9000

1x = 600

And 100x = 60000 ( total votes)

Number of votes B got = (25/100) × 60000 = 15000
