A. Amoebiasis is caused by the protozoan parasite Entamoeba histolytica. It is an intestinal infection that spreads through contaminated food or water and affects the intestines, causing symptoms like diarrhea, abdominal pain, and fever.

B. Ascaris, the common round worm and Wuchereria, the filarial worm, are some of the helminths which are known to be pathogenic to man. Ascaris, an intestinal parasite causes ascariasis.

C. Wuchereria bancrofti and Wuchereria malayi are types of filarial worms that can cause a condition known as elephantiasis or filariasis. These worms live in the lymphatic vessels of the lower limbs, as well as in the genital organs, leading to chronic inflammation and damage over many years.

D. The fungi belonging to the genera Trichophyton, Microsporum, and Epidermophyton cause an infection called ringworm. Dry scaly lesions are a common symptom of this fungal infection.
