Question:

The pie-chart shows the annual car production (percentage wise) of six countries A, B, C, D, E and F.

Study the pie chart and answer the question.

Total number of cars produced = 40,00,000

If 45% of the number of cars produced by these six countries are diesel cars and the rest are petrol cars, then how many petrol cars were produced?

Options:

25 lakh

24 lakh

22 lakh

20 lakh

Correct Answer:

22 lakh

Explanation:

Total number of cars produced = 40,00,000

Number of Diesel cars = 45% of total number of cars

Now , Number of Petrol cars = Total number of cars - Number of Diesel cars

Number of petrol cars = 100% - 45% = 55%

ATQ ,

100% = 40,00,000 = 40 lakh

1 % = \(\frac{40 }{100 }\)

Number of petrol cars = 55% = 55 × \(\frac{40 }{100 }\)  = 22 lakh
