If Ms. C gets a chance to lodge a Complaint in court so which is right place to file a case first for getting the relief ?

Options:

National Commission

District Commission/District Forum

State Commission

Supreme Court

Correct Answer:

District Commission/District Forum

Explanation:

The correct answer is option (2)  : District Commission/District Forum

In India, for consumer complaints, the right place to file a case initially for relief is:

2. District Commission/District Forum

The consumer dispute redressal system in India involves three levels - District Forum, State Commission, and National Commission. For cases involving a lower value or compensation, the District Commission or District Forum is the appropriate first step. If  dissatisfied with the decision of the District Forum, an appeal can then be made to the State Commission and/subsequently, to the National Commission if needed. The Supreme Court is generally not the first point of recourse for consumer complaints; it deals with matters of constitutional importance and appeals from higher courts.
