Fourteen persons can do a work in 18 days. After 5 days of work, 6 workers left the work, and joined back on the last day of the work. In how many days the work got completed?

Given,

14 person completes a work in 18 days. 

Let efficiency of each person be 1.

⇒ 14(1) x 18 = 252 units              ..(Efficiency × Days = Total work)

⇒ 6 persons left after 5 days of work and came back 1 day before completion of work,

⇒ Therefore, 14 persons worked for (5 + 1) = 6 days

⇒ 14 x 6 = 84 units,

⇒ Remaining Work = 252 - 84 = 168 units, 

⇒ Remaining work was completed by 8 Persons in = \(\frac{168}{8}\) = 21 days.        ..(\(\frac{Work}{Efficiency}\) = Time)

Therefore total no. of days to complete the work are = 21 + 6 = 27 days.
