Question:

Angle subtended by a  chord xy on the centre of a circle is 180 degree. If length of this chord is 36 cm, then what will be the radius of the circle?

Options:

24 cm

18 cm

27 cm

21 cm

Correct Answer:

18 cm

Explanation:

If the angle subtended by the chord xy is 180o at the centre of the circle then it will be the diameter of the circle and the radius of the circle will be half of that chord.

xy = 36cm = Diameter

Then the radius of the circle = 18cm
