Question:

The circumference of a circular field is 396 m and that of the other circular field is 132 m. Find the area (in m2) of the third circular field whose radius is the sum of the radii of the first two fields. (Take $π =\frac{22}{7}$)

Options:

13860

19536

22176

23984

Correct Answer:

22176

Explanation:

Circumference of 1st circle = 396 cm

2 × π × r1 = 396

2 × \(\frac{22}{7}\) × r1 = 396

r1 = 63 cm

Now,

Circumference of 2nd circle = 132 cm

2 × π × r2 = 132

2 × \(\frac{22}{7}\) × r2 = 132

r2 = 21 cm

Radius of new circular field = 63 + 21 = 84 cm

Area of new circular field = πr²

= \(\frac{22}{7}\) × 84 ×  84

= 22176
