Total investment(in ₹ thousands) of Vivek and Shalini in six savings schemes.

Percentage of Vivek's investment out of total investment

What is the average amount invested by Vivek in savings schemes A, B , C and D?

Options:

₹27,200

₹28,500

₹27,250

₹27,000

Correct Answer:

₹27,250

Explanation:

Total investment in A = 80000

Total investment in B = 70000

Total investment in C = 30000

Total investment in D = 50000

Investment of vivek in A = \(\frac{50 }{100 }\) × 80000 = 40000

Investment of vivek in B = \(\frac{60 }{100 }\) × 70000 = 42000

Investment of vivek in C = \(\frac{40 }{100 }\) × 30000  = 12000

Investment of vivek in D = \(\frac{30 }{100 }\) × 50000 = 15000

Average investment by vivek in A , B , C  & D = \(\frac{40000+42000+12000+15000 }{4 }\)

= \(\frac{ 109000 }{4 }\)

= Rs. 27250
