Tiger census refers to the statistical method employed to determine the population of tigers and their distribution within the country every year. The census conducted in our National Parks and tiger reserves helps in enumeration of population size. Parameters of tiger census :

Faecal pellets (animal waste)

This is an indirect method of estimating the population density without actually counting them or seeing them. Hence, these methods are not always accurate. Now a days, camera trapping and excreta DNA analysis are being extensively used.
