Question:

Find the curved surface area of a solid cylinder whose radius of base is 14 cm and volume is 7392 cm3. [Use π = $\frac{22}{7}$]

Options:

1840 cm3

1056 cm3

1081 cm3

996 cm3

Correct Answer:

1056 cm3

Explanation:

We know that,

Curved surface area of a cylinder = 2πrh

Volume of a cylinder = πr2h

We have,

Radius = 14 cm

Volume = 7392 cm3

\(\frac{22}{7}\) × 142 × H = 7392

= H = 7392 × \(\frac{7}{ 22 × 196}\)

= H = 12

Now, the curved surface area of a solid cylinder = 2 × \(\frac{22}{ 7}\) × 14 × 12 = 1056 cm2
