This forum brings together finance ministers and central bank governors from 19 countries: Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, The Republic of Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, The United Kingdom, The United States of America. The European Union is also a member of G-20 and is represented by the President of the European Council and by Head of the European Central Bank.

Created as BRIC in 2006 with Brazil, Russia, India and China as its founding members, BRICS came into being after South Africa joined the bloc in 2010. Last year, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates were invited to become members with effect from January 1, 2024.
