Two cars X and Y start running towards each other from two places 216 km apart. The ratio of the speeds of X and Y is 5: 7 and the speed of X is 60 km/h. After how many minutes will X and Y meet each other?

Explanation:

Ratio of speed of X & Y = 5 : 7

According to question ,

5R = 60 km/h

1R = 12 km/h

7R = 7 × 12 = 84 km/h

Relative speed when moves in same direction = 84 - 60 = 24 km/h

Time taken to meet each other = \(\frac{216}{24}\) = 1.5 hours

1.5 hours = 1.5 × 60 minutes = 90 minutes
