Electric field at the surface, of a conducting shell of radius 'r' is measured as X. Electric field at a distance 3r from the centre of the shell is: |
\( \frac{X}{3} \) \( \frac{X}{6} \) \( \frac{X}{9} \) X |
\( \frac{X}{9} \) |
We know, \( E \propto \frac{1}{r^2}\) (for a shell) ∴ \( \frac{E_1}{E_2}=\frac{r_2^2}{r_1^2} \) \( \frac{X}{E_2}=\frac{(3 r)^2}{(r)^2} \) ∴ \( E_2=\frac{X}{9} \) |
