Question:

Two trains Z and X of lengths 380 meters and 610 meters respectively, are running in the same direction on parallel tracks.  If the speeds of Z and X are 49 km/h and 82 km/h respectively, then what will be the time taken by them to cross each other?

Options:

33 seconds

108 seconds

90 seconds

70 seconds

Correct Answer:

108 seconds

Explanation:

Relative speed = 82 - 49

                      = 33 km/h

         Distance = 380 + 610 = 990 meter

                D = S × T

                T = \(\frac{990}{33 × \frac{5}{18}}\) = 108 seconds
