Question:

A train  having length 330 metres takes 11 seconds to cross a 550 metres long bridge. How much time will the train take to cross a 570 metres long bridge?

Options:

(45/4) seconds

(47/4) seconds

20 seconds

 16 seconds

Correct Answer:

(45/4) seconds

Explanation:

Speed of the train = $\frac{distance}{time}$

                           = $\frac{330+550}{11}$

                           = 80 m/s

Time taken by train to cross 570 metres bridge = $\frac{distance}{speed}$

                  = $\frac{330+570}{80}$ =  $\frac{900}{80}$

                  = (45/4) seconds
