Question:

If the radius of a sphere is thrice than the radius of a hemisphere, then what will be the respective ratio of their volumes ?

Options:

27 : 1

16 : 1

54 : 1

 18 : 1

Correct Answer:

54 : 1

Explanation:

We know that,

Volume of Sphere = \(\frac{4}{3}\)πR3

Volume of Hemisphere = \(\frac{2}{3}\)πR3

We have,

Radius of sphere = 3 × Radius of Hemisphere

Volume of sphere = \(\frac{4}{3}\)π(3a)3 = 36a3π

Volume of Hemisphere = \(\frac{2}{3}\)π(a)3 = \(\frac{2}{3}\)a3π

Ratio of their volumes = 54 : 1
