Question:

In a right-angled triangle ABC right angled at C, Sin A = Sin B. What is the value of cos A ?

Options:

$\frac{\sqrt{3}}{2}$

1

$\frac{1}{\sqrt{2}}$

$\frac{1}{2}$

Correct Answer:

$\frac{1}{\sqrt{2}}$

Explanation:

Triangle is right angled at C .

So, ∠C = 90º

As, sinA = sinB

So, ∠A = ∠B

∠A +∠B = 90º

∠A + ∠A = 90º

∠A = 45º

Now,

cosA

=  cos 45º

= \(\frac{1}{√2}\)
