Time, Speed and Distance

Question:

Distance between A and B is 650 km. Two trains start running towards each other with the speed of 70 km/hr and 60 km/hr respectively. Find the time taken by them to meet each other.

Options:

4 hours

7 hours

6 hours

5 hours

Correct Answer:

5 hours

Explanation:

Relative speed in opposite direction = 70 + 60 = 130 km/hr

Total Distance = 650 km

Now,

Time = \(\frac{Total\;distance}{Relative\;speed}\) = \(\frac{650}{130}\) = 5 hrs.
