What is the difference between the mean and mode of the ages?

Correct Answer:

Explanation:

Total number of children = 17 + 16 + 16 + 17 + 19 + 15 = 100

Mean of age = \(\frac{ 6×17+7×16+8×16+9×17+10×19+11×15 }{100}\)

= \(\frac{ 102+112+128+153+190+165 }{100}\)

= \(\frac{ 850 }{100}\)

= 8.5

Mode = 10   ( Because 10 hase highest frequency i.e. 19 )

Difference b/w mean and mode = 10 - 8.5 = 1.5
