Choose the correct answer from the options given below:
Answer & explanation
Correct answer: option 3
The correct answer is Option (3) → (D), (A), (B), (C)
(D) Ramapithecus — first. About 15 million years ago (mya), primates called Dryopithecus and Ramapithecus lived. Ramapithecus was more man-like, while Dryopithecus was more ape-like.
(A) Homo erectus — second. Its fossils, found in Java in 1891, date to about 1.5 mya. It had a large brain of around 900 cc and probably ate meat.
(B) Neanderthal man — third. It had a brain size of 1400 cc and lived in the near east and central Asia between 1,00,000 and 40,000 years ago. It used hides to protect the body and buried its dead.
(C) Homo sapiens — last. Homo sapiens arose in Africa and spread across the continents. Modern Homo sapiens arose during the ice age, between 75,000 and 10,000 years ago.
