Question:

A right angle triangle is rotated along the base. If the perpendicular, hypotenuse and base of the triangle are 8 cm, 10 cm and 6 cm respectively. Find the volume of the cone formed though rotation. (π = 3.14)

Options:

101.44 cm3

301.44 cm3

401.44 cm3

501.44 cm3

Correct Answer:

301.44 cm3

Explanation:

Here, Base 6cm becomes radius of base circle of cone and perpendicular become height of the cone.

Therefore,

Volume of the cone = \(\frac{1}{3}\) \(\pi \) rh  = \(\frac{1}{3}\) \(\pi \) 6× 8 = \(\frac{1}{3}\) × 3.14 × 36 × 8 = 301.44
