The length of the diagonal of a rectangle is 26 cm and one side is 10 cm. The area of the rectangle is:

Length of diagonal of the rectangle of side length x and y = \(\sqrt {(x^2 + y^2)}\)   = 26 cm

One side length = 10 cm

= \(\sqrt {(x^2 + y^2)}\)   = 26 cm

= 10² + b² = 676

= b² = 676 - 100

= b = \(\sqrt {576}\) = 24 cm

Area of given rectangle = a × b = 10 × 24 = 240 cm²
