Question:

If a solid piece of iron in the form of a cuboid, of dimensions 49 cm × 33 cm × 24 cm, is moulded to form a solid sphere, then the radius of the sphere is ______. [Use $π = \frac{22}{7}$]

Options:

16 cm

10 cm

18 cm

21 cm

Correct Answer:

21 cm

Explanation:

We know that,

The volume of a cuboid = multiply of all the sides

The volume of a sphere = \(\frac{4}{3}\) × π × r3,

Cuboid’s dimension = 49 cm × 33 cm × 24 cm

=  \(\frac{4}{3}\)  × π × r3  = 49 × 33 × 24

= r3 = 9261

= r = 21
