length of platform = 2L

Speed of train = 54 km/hr = 54 × \(\frac{5}{18}\) m/s = 15 m/s

Distance traveled by train to cross the platform = L + 2L = 3L

Distance = speed × time

⇒ 3L = 15 × 18

⇒ L = 90

Length of train = 90m

length of platform = 2 × 90 = 180m
