Question:

The ratio of speeds of two aeroplanes is 11 : 18. If the first aeroplane covers a distance of 1650 km in 3 hours, then what is the speed (in m/s) of the second aeroplane?

Options:

270

200

225

250

Correct Answer:

250

Explanation:

Ratio of speed of Aeroplanes is 11 : 18

We know, Speed = \(\frac{Distance}{Time}\)

Hence, the speed of the first aeroplane = \(\frac{1650}{3}\)

= 550 km/hour

According to question ,

Now, 11R = 550

R = 50

Hence, the speed of the second aeroplane = 18R = 18 × 50 = 900 km/h

= 900 × \(\frac{5}{18}\) = 250 m/sec

So ,  The speed of the second aeroplane is 250 m/sec.
