Question:

There is 10% water in a 40-litre solution of milk and water. If 10 litres of water are added to this solution, then what percentage of the new solution will be water?

Options:

25%

20%

35%

28%

Correct Answer:

28%

Explanation:

10% = \(\frac{1}{10}\)

ATQ ,

Total amount of solution = 40 litre

Amount of water = 10% of 40 = 4 litre

Amount of milk = 40 - 4 = 36 litre

After Adding 10 litres of water .

New total amount of water = 4 + 10 = 14 litre

New Total amount of solution = 40 + 10 = 50 litre

Percentage of water in solution = \(\frac{14}{50}\)× 100 = 28%
